IDDA – The Organisation

The IDDA has been operating since 2009 and was initiated in Germany. It is an association which operates in Turkey, Russia, Egypt as well as Austria and Germany. The association focuses on the diving training of physically disabled people. The cooperation takes place with doctors, therapists as well as diving instructors and associations which have experience in the area of training disabled people. In addition, the IDDA actively works together with the German Wheelchair Association (DRS) as well as the Disabled Sports Association NRW (BSNW).

The objective of the IDDA is to bring forward the development as well as the promotion of diving courses, which enable physically disabled people to learn how to dive or to train as professional divers. The programmes are composed in a compact manner, theory is reduced to a minimum. In addition, eLearning is offered, thus rendering it possible to be active via a PC and to complete the theoretical part here. This offers significantly more possibilities for people who are interested in the courses.
